Job Description
Our growing company is seeking to hire a project administrator for our projects. This task involves monitoring project plans, schedules, organizing and participating in stakeholder meetings, and ensuring that project deadlines are met in a timely manner.
Your central goal will be to prepare accurate estimate reports for projects by gathering information, analyzing important metrics, and conducting regular risk assessments. Once the project gets awarded you will be responsible for coordinating it with the detailing team and structural steel fabricator.
To be successful as a project administrator, you will need to be able to work on tight deadlines, be competent in using Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel, and have exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills.
A bachelor's degree in a civil engineering/mechanical engineering/structural engineering and related field of study and at least three (3) years of relevant experience is required for consideration.
Responsibilities
- Maintaining and monitoring project plans, project schedules, and should act as a bridge between detailing team, fabricators and other sub contractors/vendors
- Organizing the weekly status meeting with project stake holders.
- Preparing necessary reports for meetings.
- Ensuring project deadlines are met.
- Determining project changes.
- Undertaking project tasks as required.
- Developing project strategies.
- Ensuring projects adhere to frameworks and all documentation is maintained appropriately for each project.
- Assess project risks and issues and provide solutions where applicable.
- Create a project management calendar for fulfilling each goal and objective.
- Review and assess cost estimates.
- Prepare quotes for fabricators consideration.
- Able to draft proposals well within the bid time.
- Meeting with clients to discuss their thoughts and concerns about our offers.
- Collecting all pertinent documents including property plans, technical drawings,
and project specifications.
- Studying documentation, meeting with clients, and inspecting the construction site to fully understand what work is required.
- Deciding on the most appropriate human and material resources for each project.
- Obtaining multiple quotes for each of these and then selecting the most suitable offers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering/mechanical engineering/structural engineering or related field of study.
- Three years of experience in a related field.
- Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Experience using computers for a variety of tasks.
- Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Knowledge of steel detailing.
- Ability to work on tight deadlines.
- Working knowledge on any estimating software.
- Should be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
